It's because they are easy to specify and have foolproof cut sheets that allow you to cover all of your bases. There's never a surprise waiting for you when you spec Lithonia fixtures. Lithonia is the anchor for the Acuity Brands line of manufacturers

Louis Poulsen - A line of modern style luminaries in recessed, surface, suspended, pendant, wall, floor, and table top. Many are one-of-a-kind creations that you won't see elsewhere

LSI Industries - Mainly known for their clean looking outdoor area lighting, LSI offers indoor, outdoor, landscape, and sports illumination products

Lumenpulse - Curious looking spots, pendants, wall, and cove lighting. I've used their products for theater lighting

Lumos - They make some standard linear and circle luminaries but their main thrust are custom designed fixtures

Lumux - Primarily outdoor ballards, step lights, wall packs, and floods

Lutron - Perhaps the most popular of all lighting controls manufacturer

Magnaray - This Florida based company primarily makes outdoor lighting products for landscape, effect, parking lots, patio, security, signs, and sports

Manning Lighting - Lighting products for churches, architectural, and an interesting line of edge-lit luminescent blade luminaires

Medical Illumination - You guessed it; specialized luminaires for vets and medical facilities such as surgeries and exam rooms

Nicor - This company in New Mexico offers downlights, undercabinet, utility, troffers, high/low bay, vapor tight, surface, track, emergency, exit, sconce, and wall packs

Nora Lighting - This California manufacturer has cylinders, troffers, edge-lit panels, linear, recessed, track, rail, under cabinet, pendant, accent, retail, multiple head directionals, emergency, and exit fixtures

OCL (Original Cast Lighting) - Very upscale modern and custom luminaires including a few outdoor sconces

PAL (Precision Architectural Lighting) - A well made and attractive but fairly limited line of mainly linear luminaires

Philips - An enormous line of products including manufacturers such as Chloride, Day-Brite, Gardco, Hadco, Ledalite, Lightolier, Stonco, and more

Prescolite - Best known for their recessed can luminaires, Prescolite makes a wide variety of products including a few outdoor surface fixtures. Now a Hubbell brand company

Prima - A nice line up of high end display, pendant, track, sconce, linear, and recessed luminaires

Progress Lighting - My favorite line of residential grade luminaries and a main line found at Home Depot. Always check their site before specifying these on a job because models go obsolete pretty quickly at times
